Los Angeles, CA (March 7, 2014)– Rio Vista Universal Production Company releases MavTV’s newest venture into making the ultimate speed machine, “Gear Heads.” Builders, Nick Field and Rick Ford, own and operate Fastlane garage out of Houston, TX where they focus on modern muscle cars turned into maximum performance race cars. Every day is a new challenge for Nick and Rick as they push the envelope in performance racing. In this 5 episode series slated to air on MAVTV, Gear Heads strive to accomplish one goal, maximum horsepower.
Featured in the series are top fuel pilots, Clay Millican and JR Todd. Clay, a six time IHRA Top Fuel Champion, NHRA driver JR Todd, and Monte Smith of NOS fame all bring their expertise in speed to builders Nick Field and Rick Ford as they collaborate to streamline their chosen vehicle. While the show’s main focus is to highlight performance and results, it’s also entertaining, endearing and funny. Rick Ford shines as comedic relief in a shop staffed full of young testosterone filled mechanics. His management style is unique to say the least. After the first episode people will no doubt repeat Rick’s go to line, “Does someone need to get fired?”
Gear Heads was created by Executive Producer Raymond Iddings, Sean Overbeeke and James Ganiere. Ganiere’s film and television production company, Rio Vista Universal, based in Los Angeles already boasts a hefty resume and adds Gear Heads to its production list including Back from the Dead, Reel Hollywood, and Ultimate Garages. Most recently, Ganiere has managed and developed talented writers including Kenneth Kemp, who won Scriptapalooza for the pilot Attaché. Iddings has produced several hit television shows including Pass Time!, Won & Done and Burnout: The Ultimate Drag Race Challenge. Overbeeke has produced over 150 episodes of TLC’s hit show 19 Kids & Counting. Gear Heads premieres on MavTV Friday March 7th at 2pm, 5pm, 8pm, 11pm and Sunday 11am.
