McLeansboro, IL (September 13, 2017) – This weekend, the NHRA returns to zMAX Dragway in Charlotte for the 2017 NHRA Carolina Nationals. This is the first race in the Mello Yello Countdown to the Championship and Clay Millican is fired up and ready to race his way to the top.
Millican enters the Mello Yello Countdown to the Championship in the No. 7 spot. The points are reset for the final six races of the season placing Millican and the Parts Plus/Great Clips/University of Northwestern Ohio Top Fuel dragster only 70 points out of first place.
“Coming off Indy and having such a great running ca,r we are ready to race for the championship. We are comfortable starting from the seventh position,” Millican said. “I won’t lie; it hurt losing in the first round in Indy. But all the loss did is spark a fire in all the crew and inspire us to win. Every run moving forward we are going to push as hard as we can, starting with Q1 on Friday afternoon.”

It was a perfect weekend to be a part of helping make some young people to be safer drivers.”
This weekend Millican will be attending the annual B.R.A.K.E.S. fundraising gala Saturday night. This year is a disco theme which Millican is excited about.
